Located in a historic building from the 1960s, which previously housed the Cercle Messe of the French Station, the Hotel Servi-Flor preserves the original design of the period, keeping alive the charm and French traditions that make up its identity.

Some points of our history

7 April 1964

Signing of the Portuguese-French Agreement

...which granted France the use of facilities on Flores Island, Azores, for the creation of a telemetry station, facilitating the French nuclear program "Force de Frappe".

5 June 1966

Beginning of the unloading of materials for the French Military Base on Flores Island, including antennas to monitor the paths of missiles launched from France.

6 October 1966

Official inauguration of the French Base on Flores Island.

Early 1967

The Hotel Messe begins to be explored, under concession from the Bensaúde Group, for a period of 6 years.

1968

Messe Restaurant starts operating through the Bensaúde Group.

1968

Operation of the French Base now has the support of the test vessel Henri Poincaré.

1971

The Hotel Messe is now managed exclusively by French people.

1992

The ship Henri Poincaré ceases to provide services after 24 years of operation in the Azores, being scrapped in France.

17 August 1992

Foundation of the company Servi-Flor, dedicated to organizing events.

2 August 1993

Opening of the Servi-Flor Hotel in the building that housed the Cercle Messe of the French Telemetry Station, in Santa Cruz das Flores.

28 August 1993

Last takeoff of the Transall, a French Air Force plane, leaving the Flores Island airport with the last elements of the French Military Base.
